Director's Profile

Steve Firmani, is founder and Director of New England MUFON, a joint effort to organize and merge the MUFON state organizations in CT/RI/MA/NH/ME and VT.

Steves interest in UFOlogy began in the late 1960s at the age of 20 as a passing hobby and expanded into 36 year relationship with the UFO Phenomena.

Mr Firmani began his UFO career as a MUFON Field Investigator in the early 1970s and has held the positions of MUFON Section Director for Central Massachusetts, Massachusetts State Director, Western Massachusetts Section Director, Northeastern CMS Administrator and Acting State Director for New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine and Vermont before creating the New England organization. Other positions include former Massachusetts State Director and Director of Investigations for the New Hampshire based International Center for Aerial and Abduction Research (ICAAR)

He appeared with Andreasson Case lead investigator Jules Vaillaincourt on local radio shows and has done several speaking engagements for local groups and a number of local newspaper interviews in the Worcester, Ma area. He is also former co-editor for the Aerial/Space Phenomena Review (ASPR) a monthly publication.

Over his career, Steve has investigated the full spectrum of case types as well as several abduction cases, including the Maryanne Schennefield case in Western Massachusetts. Steve has also worked closely with friend, former MUFON colleague/co-author of the book, Clear Intent and editor of the UFO Historical review, Barry Greenwood. Steve has currently applied for the position of New England SIP Coordinator for the newly formed MUFON project with Bigelow Aerospace.

Mr Firmani resides in Leominster Massachusetts and is involved in his local community. He has been employed for 11 years as a Residential Supervisor for Dr. Franklin Perkins School of Lancaster, Massachusetts; a community based living arrangement for mentally challenged adults.
